This is my first game I've ever attempted and I know it still has a long way to go, but I'll be working hard to get a full game released so that hopefully it brings someone joy.

All assets were created by myself. Made using Gameboy Studio and BassoonTracker.

Consider leaving a comment if you enjoy the demo! Constructive criticism is always welcome.

Dev Notes:

3/27/25

Hey! Update. Unfortunately this game probably won't become anything more than a demo any time soon. But I wanted to extend my gratitude toward all the people and great friends who supported my first game when it came out.

The biggest challenges for this game involved getting all the bugs worked out since I was brand new at using Gameboy Studio at the time, and I really wanted to know if I even had the capacity to make games. So despite a really grueling deadline I set for myself and a lot of late nights pouring over the family computer, I did in fact make a game. And oh how proud little me was.

I really wanted to make the game funny and cute because it is such a short experience but add in some darker undertones because it made the story more engaging at least in my opinion. What better way to end the day at a nursing home than to uncover the secret death cult in the supply closet... but I think the element I was the most proud of were the character designs... maybe that's a lie. If we're being honest the best room by landslide vote was the cat room, haha! I did enjoy exploring creating the characters along with the environments that they lived in. It allowed me to add more visual and narrative depth to the game and kept the environment involved in the storytelling process. I think making that decision made the game more fun to explore and it definitely gave me more of an opportunity to insert quippy one-liners.  Which is always good.

All this to say. Gran's dead now. But who knows. Maybe she'll be back for more if that cult implied anything...She's in a better place now? She'll always be in our hearts.  And totally not trapped in some sort of endless supply closet purgatory. No way.

a lot of times during the watering minigame it's not detected when one interacts with a plant for the second time. (this could be a mistiming between the end of the need water icon animation as seen and as programmed, but it feels too inconsistent for that)

Ok! I'll look into that for the full release. Thanks for your comment!
